ある外人デザイナーに聞くと「日本人は安易に新しいものを求めすぎる」という。欧州では伝統を重んじその文脈の中でデザインするのが通例で、欧州の自動車メーカーに見られる強力なブランドアイデンティティはその恩恵だという。一方「では、あなたはなぜ日本でデザインをするのか?」と聞くと「欧州にはチャンスがない。日本は柔軟にアイデアを受け入れる素地がある」という。
